All of these persons are brought to life by the voice of the narrator Twitchet Cicely McArcher. Wolfram von Eschenbach’s Middle High German epic poem PARZIVAL (created around 1200) is a jewel of world literature. Although French templates were the fashion at the time, the poet developed independently the connection between the myths of Artus and the Grail. His Grail, that PARZIVAL has to go searching, driven by an inner vocation, is not the chalice of the Christian Last Supper, but a mysterious stone. Wolfram’s highly spiritual work also shows the poet’s far-reaching education. INVISIBLE SOUND produced the present audiobook using consciously a female narrator’s voice, because it had been written for a woman – according to the poet. A magical bridge between the medieval text and modern times is built by the composer’s clear neoclassical music.
